This haunting image is of a Defra contractor about to shoot (not posed!) one of 80 prize cows belonging to farmer Tony Yewdall. Defra vets destroyed 80 cows on this occasion without testing them for positive signs of the TB virus. It transpired that most of the destroyed livestock had been healthy. 2009.
